spring break in DC

omg it was soooooooo much fun... i dont member everything that happened but ill try 2 tell it all::

Day #1, monday... we got on the bus around 2:30 and headed for the long trip. for dinner we stopped in indiana and had subway. to keep ourselves entertained on the bus we ate junk food lol and played trivial pursuit. and then we watched remember the titans. omg i love that movie. nobody slept well on the bus at all. it was so uncomfortable and i ended up waking up at one point with my arm around blake! then he stole my blanket... well actually it was his blanket that i stole from him. but still the took it from me and then i was freezing cuz the bus driver had the airconditioning on.

Day #2, tuesday... in the morning we "got up" bright and early. then we stopped at the mcdonalds in maryland were we had breakfast (i had a fruit and yogurt parfait, orange juice, and red bull) and got ready for the day. mom was so funny... she cant stand taking a shower so she washed her hair in the sink of the mcdonalds bathroom and dried it under the hand drier. after much chaos everyone got back on the bus and headed to Arlington... which was about an hour away.

First Stop: Arlington National Cemetary -- wow it was amazing. there were so many tomb stones of soldiers that died it was unreal... i couldnt believe it. they just kept going on for miles and miles, as far as you could see in any direction. we also got to see the tomb of the unknown soldier. there we saw the changing of the guard and the wreath ceremony. along the way we also saw burial places of some presidents. here we also got our tour guide who has a major problem with people chewing gum. he also carried an umbrella on a warm day, with no rain. hehe and he had a funny accent.

Next Stop: The Capital Building -- it is sooooooooooo huge! u would not believe it. its so easy 2 get lost in that building. the tour guide had no idea where she was going and took us down wrong turns and stuff. it was funny tho. there were also lots and lots of metal detectors. when we finally got out of the building it was gorgeous outside. i took my sweatshirt off and rolled up my jeans. it was nice.

Third Stop: The Supreme Court -- that is where we ate lunch. it was so hot in there and i couldnt get my water open. lol. then chelsea got lost. hehe. after lunch we took a group picture on the supreme court building. and i can run up all of those stairs in 10 seconds.

Fourth Stop: The Smithsonian Instution of Air and Space -- i didnt like this one as much because it doesnt really catch my attention. i dont like the space and air stuff. it was really cool inside tho. and had lots of hands-on stuff too. lol we waited forever in the line for the space ship and it turned out pathetic. hehe. then lauren and alicia got lost.

Fifth And Final Stop: Old Country Buffett -- oooo yummy. it was so good! and it reminded me of home (racine). its just like the one there. i had one plate of food and then mom made me eat a salad cuz i need my quarterback muscles. lol. it was fun tho. then i wanted ice cream for dessert and the machine was acting all weird. and then there werent any oreos for the top it and i was sad. cassie kept putting sugar (7 packs) into her sprite and then the waitress took it away, cassie wouldnt eat her chicken either because she felt bad for it. noah was the only boy at our table of 8th grade girls and it was so funny. hes really cool.

Finally Relaxing: In The Hotel -- all of the parents were gone, in the lobby, for parent night... so it was just us kids and a couple of chaperones in the hotel. we had to keep all of the hotel doors open so that nothing bad happened. that way anyone can go in and out of the rooms until 11 when we had to go to bed. cassie had the first night shower... then morgan... and finally me. it was really nice to finally get to cool off and get comfy. chelsea did me and morgans hair in a net. it turned out really cool. she always does a really good job though. until cerfue my room (cassie, chelsea, morgan and me) were in alicia lauren and allysons room. but when cerfue hit, everyone had to get back to their own rooms, but still no parents. thus we decided that we were going to tell eachother what we dont like about eachother and what we do like. it was very interesting. we all tried to lay on one bed but it was too smooshed so we moved the table and pushed to two of them together. mom finally came back @ around 12:30 and we went to bed.

Day #3, wednesday... morgan was supposed 2 set the alarm clock for 6, but set it 4 6 in WI time. lol. so if mom hadn't have gotten up we woulda been stuck there all day. lol. nobody wanted to get up out of bed so mom had to sing "rise and shine and give God your glory glory" to us and then lunge onto the bed. it was so funny. but when we all finally got up and ready we headed over to the lobby for continental breakfast... yummy. i had a bagel with cream cheese, propel and red bull. then we started out our day.

First Stop: The WWI Memorial -- that was really cool. the fountains r beautiful and where the memorial is located you can see the capital building and other stuff. when we were there president bush flew into the white house. we saw the choppers. there were 2 so u didnt kno which 1 he was in. it was sweet.

Second Stop: The Vietnam War Memorial -- omg u would not believe it. its a huge wall with all of the names of soldiers in the war. it was amazing. its so hard to explain though.

Third Stop: The Veteran's Memorial -- wow another gorgeous one. there were statues and etchings in the wall of soldiers and other military things.

Fourth Stop: The Peterson House -- thats the house that president lincoln died in. its really cool. it even had the replicated furniture in it. it was awesome. but creepy to know that someone died there lol

Fifth Stop: Shopping -- well we were supposed to go into the Ford Theater but the next show didnt start till noon so we had like 45 minutes. we just walked in the souvenier stores and the hard rock cafe. we saw some really cool stuff. and got lukas a hard rock cafe tshirt.

Sixth Stop: The Old Post Office Pavillion -- thats where we had lunch. it was packed like a giant mall of food. its really cool. i ended up having a huge slice of pizza and mountain dew. but the best part was that they had a Ben And Jerry's store. it was awesome. like a baskin robbins. it had ice cream but all of it was ben and jerrys. id never seen 1 b4. it was awesome. and i got chocolate brownie fudge in a cone. yummy.

Seventh Stop: The White House -- it does not look like what you think it does. its big and beautiful and in the middle of the city. its not in the middle of nowhere as youd think. it was funny tho because there were all these secret service people on the building with huge machine guns. it was really cool. then when were leaving this guy pulled into the white house with a HUGEE machine gun on his lap. and were like well u dont want to make that guy mad now. too bad we couldnt go inside.

Eighth Stop: The Smithsonian of American History Musem -- pretty cool place. not like i expected. we got to see all of the presidents wives dresses and cool musical instruments. then we even got to go into a simulator. and omg was that cool!

Ninth Stop: The Smithsonian of Natural History Musem -- i liked this one better. it had all of the dinosaur bones and gems in it. AND THE HOPE DIAMOND. ohh that thing is gorgeous.

Tenth Stop: The Union Station -- there we ate dinner. i had soup and a salad. omg it was so good! i got potato with broccoli soup. wow that was to die for. then after dinner we all headed up to starbucks and got strawberries and creme frappachino. it was sooo good. but we were all late for the bus because we took so long in line.

Ninth Stop: Tour Of The Monuments By Light -- that was really cool. we got to go see all of the monuments at night. all of the lights were turned on in them. some of them are just amazing. you would not believe it. and they were huge too.

Finally Relaxing: In The Hotel -- i had first showers so thats what i did as soon as i got in. mom went to the party for adults again so it was just me n the girls. we hung out in the hall for awhile. looked at pictures. got snacks. and got ice. but when 11 rolled around we had to do a friend ship circle. it was really weird. you cross your arms and say goodnight ___ God bless you. until everyone around the circle is blessed. then we needed to get into bed. everyone was so beat except for us. the girls and i went thru the yearbook and said what we did and didnt like about everyone in r grade. then we had to pick out one of the guys to be stranded on an island with. lol. that was funny. then we had an ice fight. we were throwing it all over the place. it was funny. but then we all laid down into r beds starting to calm down and i was smelling chelseas armpit to see if her deodorant smelled good lol. then i was going to smell morgans but she had to put deodorant on first so she was looking for her deodorant while me chelsea and cassie were talking about underwear. so then morgan goes guys i think i lost my underwear. but she meant deodorant. so she was laughing so hard at herself that she rolled off the end of the bed onto the ice bucket. it broke and water was everywhere. we were laughing until we realized that she hurt herself. so then she called her mom in GB like she was suposed 2 do something from 18 hours away. i think not. so then mrs gaura comes in and is like omg omg omg and she brings bandaids neosporen and all this stuff making such a big deal out of it. and then mom had to come back from the party. but morgan felt bad so mom had to go back. then like a 1/2 hour later mom came back and we went to bed.

Day #4, thursday... in the morning we all got up pretty much on time. i 4got jeans so i had 2 borrow some of chelseas. then we cleaned up the room and brought all of our stuff out to the busses. and went to breakfast. i was not hungry and didnt feel good so i only 8 a 1/2 of a bagel and then i drank mountain dew on the bus with only 7th grade boys who were playing old maid. omg they r so funny! then we got moving.

First Stop: Mount Vernon -- this was really cool. it took forever to get there though and on the way conner was trying to get blake up. omg that was hilarious. but when we got there we had to stand in a big long line 2 by 2. then we finally got r tickets and into mount vernon we had to stand in a line about a mile long. it was crazy. every1 kept commenting on my sweatshirt. it was strange. when we got in the house we couldnt take any pictures. omg then when we were done in the house we took group pictures and were looking at the outside. then my mommy got lost. we had no idea where she was but she was looking for michael. we ate at mount vernon. i had a personal pan pizza from pizza hut. it was good. i had to get pepperoni tho cus there was no more cheese. and i got a soda too. lol and i drank some of mom's chocolate milk shake. morgan liked the guy sitting behind us so i go "my friend likes u" and then walked away. then the guy came back to me and goes "my friends likes u" and it was scary. after lunch we were looking at the things in the gift shop and we were looking @ the orniments with names on them. and there is this guy from cali, chad, there. hes trying to find his name and hes standing there 4 about 5 minutes until he goes ITS NOT HERE... and i go well maybe thats because this is the girls side. lol. so he goes nuh uh brooke can b a guys name. and were like umm no it cant. so he said yes it can... this is my friend brooke... so is that one. and there was a whole possi of "brookes" it was funny. turns out none of them were brookes... go figure.

Second Stop: The Immaculate Conception Shrine -- oh my gosh its so beautiful. u cant even explain it with words its so gorgeous. there were 40 different countries represented. my favorite thing in there was the huge picture of Jesus behind the alter. and its really creepy because no matter where you r in the church... it still looks like hes staring at you. which is actually true because he's always watching. when we were done with the tour, we were looking in the gift shop and then got something to drink. then we left.

Third Stop: Arundel Mills Mall -- when we finally got there we first had dinner. we stopped at taco bell. i got a #4 which is 3 tacos and a drink. it was pretty good. all the girls went by themselves and i went with mom. we got some film and were looking for a drug store in the mall but there wasnt one. we asked where there was one and they said across the street so we thought ok its right outside. well we were wrong. to get there we had to walk about a 1/2 mile and dodge across 8 lanes of highway. but we ended up getting what we wanted. when we got back to the mall we went to aeropostale and i got a pair of capris. we went in2 a couple of other stores but i didnt want anything in them. when it was time to go back to the bus we left the mall. then we got ready for bed. and into r comfy clothes. when we got back outside me morgan and chelsea were doing the check out the booty on that chica dance again.

Fourth Stop: Back On The Bus -- we got back on the bus and headed for home. first thing we did was sing the divine mercy chaplet. it was so beautiful. but it made my voice hurt. lol. the hole thing takes an hour and we had to sing the whole time. we watched holes but i pretty much slept on moms arm the whole time. after it was done everyone got ready for bed. i laid on the floor again. it wasnt comfy ofcourse but i slept. when we switched drivers in ohio everyone got out except for me and a couple other people... they went in and got food from mcdonalds. when everyone got back on the bus i went back to sleep.

Day #5, friday... we got up bright and early.

First Stop: The Truck Stop -- everyone got out and got ready for the day. mom washed her hair in the sink again. lol. it was funny. she wanted me to get her coffee but i couldnt figure out how to pour it so i had 2 ask the lady. haha. then we got back on the bus.

Second Stop: University of Notre Dame -- we had all you can eat breakfast there. it was so good. then we went on a tour. the campus is beautiful. it reminds me of a giant park. the chapel is also very beautiful. when we were done with the tour we went into the gift shop and i got a tshirt. its really cool, actually im wearing it right now.

On The Bus Again -- for april fools day they put in sing along songs with sessame street. but nobody thought it was funny cuz everyone was singing along. it was funny. if u have sneakers, stand up and tough your nose, if you have blue jeans clap your hands and so on.

Final Stop Before Home: Arby's -- i got a beef and chedder with potato cakes and mom got a salad. we had to eat it on the bus though. the stupid lady dropped morgans mozzerella sticks on the floor so we had to wait even longer for her to make new ones.

Back On The Bus -- when we finally got back on the bus i was beat. i 8 my lunch and they put in the incredibles. i didnt watch any of it. i slept on my moms arm again. lol. i was so tired though.

Finally Back At School -- when we got back to school we got everything off the bus and put it in the truck. cassie and oliver didnt have rides so we taxied them home. and then we finally got home.

So that was my trip... it was so awesome i wish it was longer though. i diffinitely wont 4get anything that happened. and my friends are awesome!!
